2.8 Show that vertical vibrations of a mass m suspended on a spring of stiffness s whose other end is fixed have angular frequency (s/m)^1/2 .(Hint: measure displacements from the equilibrium position of the mass, where its weight is balanced by the spring force.)

R: En este caso de masa-resorte, tomamos en vez de “x” una “y” ya que nuestro sistema se esta moviendo en el eje de las y's (verticalmente) por lo tanto nuestras ecuaciones se transforman en:

$a=-\omega ^{2}A=-\omega ^{2}x_{max}=-\omega ^{2}y_{max}=-\omega ^{2}y$

$F_{r}=-sx=-sy$

teniendo por la segunda ley de newton $F=ma$

$-sy=ma$

pero $a=-\omega ^{2}y$

$-sy=m(-\omega ^{2}y)$

$sy=m\omega ^{2}y$

$s=m\omega ^{2}$

$\omega ^{2}={\cfrac {s}{m}}$

$\omega =\left({\cfrac {s}{m}}\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}$
